Satchels update for AW 2012

by Christine Barnett. London, UK

Remember the traditional chestnut-coloured unisex leather satchel? The market has been inundated with fluorescent shades and an electric array of bright colours. However,  traditional taste is back for the AW 2012 season and the success of the bag is down to several factors. There’s a spotted-dick “Englishness” about the Cambridge Satchels, and English Satchels alike in traditional cow leather, which is part of the nostalgic appeal. The array of terracotta, sand and browns will allow mixing it up with anything, in rain or sunshine. Go for matching leather shows to emphasize the appeal.
