Rodarte All The Way

Spring/Summer 2011 Rodarte collection.

For S/S 2011 seasons Mulleavy sisters presented a collection inspired by nature and redwoods of Northern California.

Rodarte designer Laura promised “every shade of brown you can imagine, seventies suburbia, wood paneling, gold, off colors like chartreuse—basically, a combination of all the things that represent the area [our childhood backyard] to us.”

Rich browns, golds,  white and blue patterns were prominent  on the runway show. Dresses made out of  fabrics including lame, brocade, silk and Lurex mixed with hand-crafted leather.

Footwear were highlighted by the organics of the Redwoods. Hand-carved,  sculpted platforms and shoes by Nicolas Kirkwood  for Rodarte that perfectly complimented the outfits.
