Miu Miu e-Site

April is tax month, sigh… Accountants and the IRS have their hands full, but for those in the fashion world there are more exciting dates to put on the calendar. April 6th is the launch of Miu Miu’s e-commerce site. Up to now, only a partial assortment of pieces by Prada’s baby sister label- Miu Miu is available to fans on a select few sites worldwide.

The plans for the new site feature direct customer interaction, on-line exclusives on high-end pieces, first-hand news on approaching special events, and, our favorite, a “fashion show selection” application to shop looks directly from the runway!

With social media taking over the world, fashion giants are getting in on the high-speed train as well. This is great news for all fashionistas around the world, because every year we have an opportunity to be closer to the brands we love and get all the juicy “behind-the-scenes.”

The first piece to make its way into our cybernetic shopping bag will be the “Fire” and “Stars” Miu Miu bag from the Spring 2011 runway collection. The bags are true iconic items from this spring’s catwalk. Think leather applique, bright colors, cutout straps and carnival theme! Just the way we like it- hot!

As strong believers in giving back, the team decided to involve charitable organizations, and create their events as series of charitable fashion shopping and art social events. In the summer of 2010 stars aligned and Project Lena was born. With the launch of PROJECT LENA, sample sales are now thought of as luxurious boutique events with elements of art and giving back. The birth of the PROJECT LENA Blog was the inevitable next step. Both Lena and Anastassia have so much to share about the world of art, expression, fashion, beauty. They blog about what is current, what is new, what is here to stay, they spot trends ahead of their time.
