MASQUER release eclectic COVER EP
An album that was appointed Swedish Debut of the Year by several media. The main national music radio channel P3 also got on the love train and embraced their first single Happiness and both Dazed and Confused and Sweden’s biggest daily newspaper DN elected the synth pop duo to rising stars.
Since then the etheral neo-goth duo has toured Scandinavia and France and played with Niki and The Dove, Ane Brun and Jenny Wilson. The debut was separately released in France, where the band has stirred up a lot of interest.
Springtime offered us the Per Egland duet Svårt att förstå (Hard to grasp), celebrated by The Concretes’ singer and Swedish Television blogger Lisa Milberg, as well as collaborations with Kompakt signed producer Taragana Pyjarama – Growing Forehead (ft. Kicki Halmos), and The Field – Slow Sweet Baby. Both songs were warmly received by the international music sites and highlighted by, among others, Pitchfork and The Fader.
At the moment the dark yet crystalline-voiced combo is focusing on recording their second album rather than doing gigs.
Masquer is Kicki Halmos and Pelle Lundqvist. www.masquer.se
